Doubled Down is a rogue like first person with gambling elements. These can either benefit or harm the player

Development
I joined the game in later during development. And I played a big role in the game's level design. I was responsible for making new levels and improving the previous ones.

I learned our team's design philosophy with designing levels and incorporated my own design to the level layout designs. For example, our team placed power up near where enemies spawned. Whereas I liked to place slot machines in open areas far away from cover.

I incorporated this design philosophy from both sides. I also played the levels to makes sure the player or enemies were not getting stuck in walls, or slot machines and would change the layout of the level to fix these issues. I also improved enemy spawn location as well as making changes to the enemy spawners.

I also wanted to give player multiple incentives to explore different parts of the levels such as an area having roulette tables, slot machines or places to hide from enemy attacks.
